Dujone Dekha Holo
Recently fallen in love with this rabindra sangeet song as Durga Puja is approaching nearer. Can’t get over it. Its a very melodious and beautifully written by Rabindranath Tagore.
For those who would like to know the meaning of this song:
Bengali:
Dujone dekha holo madhujaminee re –
Keno katha kohilo na, choliya gelo dhiree
Nikunje dakhinabaay korichhe haay haay ,
Lata pata dule dule dakichhe phire phire
Dujoner ankhibari gopane gelo boye ,
Dukoner praner katha pranete gelo roye
Aar to holo na dekha jagate dohe eka –
Chiradin chharachhari jamunateere
English Translation
The two met.And a honeysweet night it was
Why didn’t they speak a word. Why did they part
The south wind blowing in the woods is lamenting the loss
The swinging boughs are pleading for a reunion
Both parted with tearful eyes, unbeknownst to the other.
words from the heart remained unspoken in their hearts
Never did they meet again. Alone in this world of woe
Parted forever, on the Jamuna banks.
Hope you like it. :)

Kabhi Shaam Dhale
A very vibrant song. Requires full energy for any singer to sing this song. Violin is one of the best part used in here. But all together I love this song and tried to attempt it. Originally sung by Mahalaxmi Iyer. She is one of my favorite singers. Hope you all enjoy this song…. :)

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
A very melodious song. No matter how much time I listen to this song, I don’t get tired of it. And every time it sounds so fresh. Originally sung by one of my favorite singers: kavita krishnamurthy. I am very fond of her singing style since my childhood. She always gives a different touch to her music. She is a great inspiration to me. This song is dedicated to all music lovers :)

Baiyan Na Dharo O Balama
One more favorite song of mine. Beautifully sung originally by Lata Ji as usual. This song is very dear to me for lot of reasons. Firstly, this is one of the first Hindi movie songs that I sang on stage when I was a kid. That itself makes it so special. So, whenever and wherever I perform this is one song which remains in my list most of the time.
I hope you all like it.
Thank you. :)

Kizhakku Pookkum (Malayalam)
Kizhakku Pookkum originally sung by Shreya Ghosal. I loved the melody of this song so gave a try. Please forgive me if there is any mistake in the pronunciation because I am not a Malayalee. Love this song very much. Also the language though its little bit difficult for me, I really enjoyed singing it… I hope you like it…
The recording is not that great because I am new at recording and also this song is sung in very high pitch… Sorry for that…
Dedicated to all the music lovers and my dear friends who speak Malayalam.

Tu Chanda Main Chandni
I have heard this song first time when Sunidhi Chauhan sang this song in her childhood in a TV competition "meri awaz suno". She won 1st prize and Lata Mangeshkar was one of the judges. I remember those beautiful days, when such competitions were more encouraging and inspiring then today's commercial competition. An amazing song by Lata Mangeshkar.
Kishori Amonkar
Kishori Amonkar, who is the idol for me and my all time favourite. I remember I heard her live when I was 12 years old. "saptak", a renowned music school in ahmedabad, where I took my music education, conducts an annual music festival every year. In this festival all legends like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pt. Jasraj, Pt. Ravi Shankar etc performs. And all the students of that music school would get free pass to see this festival. The show used to start at 7pm. And all this big stars would perform in the end. One day my dad took me to that festival where Kishori Amonkar was the lead performer. After hearing her live, I became her die hard fan. She has an amazing range and her own way of singing. I loved her style and the way she would control any thing she sings. She sings in Jaipur gharana. And I loved the taste of jaipur gharana though I was learning in Lucknow gharana. After hearing her, I purchased lot of her classical music raagas. Thanks to those people who uploaded her all kind of renditions.

Mere Dholna Sun
Even today bollywood movie has some amazing numbers of classical music. This is one such song and I will cherish this forever. I remember how I convinced my college music team to perform on this song for VTU festival competition and finally we got first prize!! Well to mention, we had an amazing bunch of people in our group and without them this song wouldn't have been justified. I am thankful to all those people - Amruth, Balaji, Govind, Manasa and Jagdish.
This is an amazing song sung by Shreya Ghoshal and M G Sreekumar from the movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Enjoy!!

Suniyo Ji - Lekin
Lekin movie has all awesome songs. This is again my favorite one. I heard this song in on of the youtube videos while I was searching for kesariya balama. And I was amazed to see in one of the videos that how beautifully Shreya Ghosal has sung this song in sa re ga ma pa competition in her childhood. I think its the greatest gift in ones life to be able to hear such songs by legend Lata Mangeshkar.
Kesariya Balama
Another song from movie "Lekin" - Kesariya balama. This is again my favorite song. I remember I heard this song 1st time from Aishwarya of Chhote Ustaad. Since then I practiced this song and also performed in couple of stages.
Enjoy this song originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar!!

Jhoote Naina Bole - Lekin
My Journey for art began with kathak dance when I was 5 years old. I think I was fortunate to learn kathak dance as my kathak teacher, Mrs. Moli Das, was my neighbor. Seeing my friends go there and dance and perform on stage, dressed up beautifully, tempted me to learn dance. My parents always fulfill my desire. There with dance I got the basic knowledge of taal. As time passed people realized my inclination for music and my parents sent me to music school as well where I was learning Rabindranath song as well as hindusthani classical music. And There the journey for art begins!!!
One of my favorite songs sung by Asha Bosle and Satyasheel Deshpande.
The music is composed by Hridaynath Mangeshkar and the lyrics were written by Gulzar. This is an amazing amalgamation of classical music as well as kathak dance.
